research and study programs Sec. 506. (a) Section 506(d) of the Housing Act of 1949 is amended to read as follows: “(d) The Secretary may carry out the research and study programs authorized by subsections (b) and (c) through grants made by him, on such terms, conditions, and standards as he may prescribe, to land-grant colleges established pursuant to the Act of July 2, 1862 (7 U.S.C. 301–308), or (upon a finding by the Secretary that the research and study involved cannot feasibly be performed through the personnel and facilities of the Department of Agriculture or by land-grant colleges) to such other private or public organizations as he may select.”. (b) Section 506(e) of such Act is amended by striking out “farm housing” each place it appears and inserting in lieu thereof “rural housing”.
