pavement marking research and demonstration programs Sec. 206. (a) In addition to the research authorized by section 307(a) of title 23, United States Code, the Secretary of Transportation is authorized to conduct research and demonstration programs to improve the effectiveness and durability of various types of pavement markings and related delineators, to develop improved equipment and techniques for applying, erecting, and maintaining such markings and delineators, and to develop new traffic control materials, devices, and related delineators to assist the traveling public during adverse weather and nighttime driving conditions. (b) There is authorized to be appropriated to carry out this section by the Federal Highway Administration, out of the Highway Trust Fund, $10,000,000 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1974, and $10,000,000 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1975.
