Motor Carrier Safety For necessary expenses to carry out motor carrier safety functions of the Secretary, as authorized by the Department of Transportation Act (80 Stat. 939–40), $6,500,000: Provided, that not to exceed $400,000 of the amount appropriated herein shall remain available until expended and not to exceed $878,000, shall be available for “Limitation on general operating expenses.” For “Motor carrier safety” for the period July 1, 1976, through September 30, 1976, $1,625,000: Provided, that not to exceed $100,000 of the amount appropriated herein shall remain available until expended and not to exceed $225,000 shall be available for “Limitation on general operating expenses.”
