airport study Sec. 20. The Secretary of Transportation shall conduct a study of airports in areas where land requirements, local taxes, or a low revenue return per acre may close such airports. This study, the results of which shall be reported to Congress by January 1, 1978, shall include the identification of those locations which may be converted to non-aviation uses and recommendations concerning methods for preserving those airports which in the Secretary’s judgment should be preserved in the public interest.
