regulations requirement Sec. 127. Section 521 of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 is amended— (1) by inserting immediately after subsection (c) the following: “(d) Within one hundred and twenty days after the enactment of this subsection, the Administration shall promulgate regulations establishing— “(1) reasonable and specific time limits for the Administration to respond to the filing of a complaint by any person alleging that a State, government or unit of general local government is in violation of the provisions of section 518(c) of this title; including reasonable time limits for instituting an investigation, making an appropriate determination with respect to the allegations, and advising the complainant of the status of the complaint, and “(2) reasonable and specific time limits for the Administration to conduct independent audits and reviews of State governments and units of general local government receiving funds pursuant to this title for compliance, with the provisions of section 518(c) of this title.”; and (2) by redesignating subsection (d) as subsection (e).
