Sec. 302. (a) The Secretary of the Interior is authorized to designate by publication of a map or other boundary description in the Federal Register certain areas of scenic, historic, and geological significance including portions of No Thoroughfare Canyon and Red Canyon, but not to exceed two thousand eight hundred acres, for addition to Colorado National Monument. Colorado. Within the areas so designated the Secretary may acquire lands and interests therein by donation, purchase with donated or appropriated funds, or exchange. Property so acquired and any Federal property so designated shall thereupon become part of the Colorado National Monument, subject to (he laws and regulations applicable to the monument, (b) There is authorized to be appropriated not to exceed $460,000 for the acquisition of lands and interests therein.
