Books for the General Collections For necessary expenses (except personal services) for acquisition of books, periodicals, and newspapers, and all other material for the increase of the Library, $1,695,000, to remain available until expended, including $40,000 to be available, solely for the purchase, when specifically approved by the Librarian, of special and unique materials for additions to the collections. For “Books for the general collection” for the period July 1, 1976, through September 30, 1976, $456,000, to remain available until expended, including $10,000 to be available solely for the purchase, when specifically approved by the Librarian, of special and unique materials for additions to the collections.
