soybean price support Sec. 901. Effective only with respect to the 1978 through 1981 crops of soybeans, section 201 of the Agricultural Act of 1949, as amended, is amended by— (1) inserting in the first sentence after “tung nuts,” the following: “soybeans,”; and (2) adding at the end thereof a new subsection (e) as follows: “(e) The price of the 1978 through 1981 crops of soybeans shall be supported through Ioans and purchases at such levels as the Secretary determines appropriate in relation to competing commodities and taking into consideration domestic and foreign supply and demand factors: Provided, That notwithstanding the provisions of section 1001 of the Food and Agriculture Act of 1977, the Secretary shall not require a set-aside of soybean acreage as a condition of eligibility for price sup-port for any commodity supported under the provisions of this Act.”.
