increase in old-age benefit amounts for delayed retirement Sec. 203. Section 202(w) (1) of Social Security Act is amended— (1) by striking out “If the first month” and all that follows down through “to such individual” in the matter preceding subparagraph (A) and inserting in lieu thereof “The amount of an old-age insurance benefit (other than a benefit based on a primary insurance amount determined under section 215(a) (3)) which is payable without regard to this subsection to an individual”; and (2) by inserting after “such amount,” in subparagraph (A) the following: “or, in the case of an individual who first becomes eligible for an old-age insurance benefit after December 1978, one-quarter of 1 percent of such amount,”.
