amendment of the national aeronautics and space act Sec. 311. (a) Section 102 of the National Aeronautics and Space Act of 1958 (42 U.S.C. 2451) is amended by redesignating subsection (e) as subsection (f), and by inserting immediately after subsection (d) the folio whig new subsection: “(e) The Congress declares that the general welfare of the United States requires that the unique competence in scientific and engineering systems of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration also be directed toward the development of advanced automobile propulsion systems. Such development shall be conducted so as to contribute to the achievement of the purposes set forth in section 302(b) of the Automotive Propulsion Research and Development Act of 1978.”. (b) The subsection of section 102 of such Act redesignated as subsection (f) by subsection (a) of this section is amended by striking out “and (d)”and inserting in lieu thereof “(d), and (e)”.
