Sec. 601. (a) For fiscal year 1979. each component of the Armed Forces is authorized an average military training student load as follows: (1) The Army, 50,738. (2) The Navy, 57,996. (3) The Marine Corps, 21,324. (4) The Air Force, 44,410. (5) The Army National Guard of the United States, 11,793. (6) The Army Reserve, 5,959. (7) The Naval Reserve, 991. (8) The Marine Corps Reserve, 3,074. (9) The Air National Guard of the United States, 2,471. (10) The Air Force Reserve, 1,184. (b) In addition to the number authorized for the Army in subsection (a), the Army is authorized a military training student load for fiscal year 1979 of not less than 17,205 to be utilized solely for One Station Unit Training. (c) The average military training student loads for the Army, the Navy, the Marine Corps, and the Air Force and the Reserve components authorized in subsection (a) of this section for fiscal year 1979 shall be adjusted consistent with the manpower strengths authorized in titles III, IV, and V of this Act. Such adjustment shall be apportioned among the Army, the Navy, the Marine Corps, and the Air Force and the Reserve components in such manner as the Secretary of Defense shall prescribe.
