school improvement programs For carrying out the activities authorized by chapter 2 of title I and titles II, III, IV, V, without regard to sections 5112(a) and 5112(c)(2)(A), and VI of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965; the Stewart B. McKinney Homeless Assistance Act, the Civil Rights Act of 1964; title V of the Higher Education Act; title IV of Public Law 100–297; and the Follow Through Act; $1,543,750,000, of which $1,229,843,000 shall become available on July 1, 1993, and remain available through September 30, 1994: Provided, That of the amount appropriated, $23,110,000 shall be for national programs under part B of chapter 2 of title I, $24,750,000 shall be for emergency grants under section 5136, $248,000,000 shall be for State grants for mathematics and science education under part A of title II of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, and $500,000 shall be for an evaluation study of the magnet schools assistance program.
