Sec. 609. (a) Section 207(f) of title 18, United States Code, as amended by section 101 of the Ethics Reform Act of 1989 (103 Stat. 1722), is amended— (1) by redesignating paragraph (2) as paragraph (3); (2) by inserting immediately after paragraph (1) the following new paragraph: “(2) Special rule for trade representative.—With respect to a person who is the United States Trade Representative, the restrictions described in paragraph (1) shall apply to representing, aiding, or advising foreign entities within 3 years after the termination of that person’s service as the United States Trade Representative.”. (b) This section shall not apply to the person serving as the United States Trade Representative at the date of enactment of this Act.
