SEC. 327. PROHIBITION ON THE PURCHASE OF SURETY BONDS AND OTHER GUARANTIES FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE. (a) Prohibition.—No funds appropriated or otherwise made available to the Department of Defense for fiscal year 1993 may be obligated or expended for the purchase of surety bonds or other guaranties of financial responsibility in order to guarantee the performance of any direct function of the Department of Defense. (b) Technical Amendment.—Section 335 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Years 1992 and 1993 (Public Law 102–190; 105 Stat. 1342) is amended by striking out “or fiscal year 1993”.
