SEC. 216. LIGHT ARMORED VEHICLE 105-MILLIMETER GUN (LAV–105) PROGRAM. (a) Reinstatement of LAV–105 Program.—Unless the development program for the Light Armored Vehicle 105-millimeter (LAV–105) gun has been reinstated and the funds appropriated for that program for fiscal year 1992 have been obligated by the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of the Navy, not later than 60 days after the date of the enactment of this Act shall— (1) reinstate the program for engineering and manufacturing systems development of the LAV–105 vehicle; and (2) obligate the funds provided for fiscal year 1992 for development and evaluation of the LAV–105 vehicle prototype. (b) Funding.—Of the funds authorized to be appropriated pursuant to section 201, or otherwise made available, for research, development, test, and evaluation for the Navy for fiscal year 1993, the sum of $14,700,000 shall be available for completion of the development and operational testing of the LAV–105 vehicle.
