REPORT ON DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY CITIZEN ADVISORY GROUPS.
SEC. 3132. REPORT ON DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY CITIZEN ADVISORY GROUPS. (a) Report.— Not later than May 15, 1993, the Secretary of Energy shall submit to the Congress a report on the role and effectiveness of citizen advisory groups for the Department of Energy. The report shall include an assessment of— (1) the effectiveness of existing advisory groups that advise the Department of Energy; (2) the desirability of establishing new or replacement advisory groups with respect to the Department of Energy; and (3) methods of improving public participation in environmental and waste management activities of the Department of Energy. (b) Comments and Recommendations.— In preparing the report required under subsection (a), the Secretary of Energy shall solicit comments and recommendations from existing advisory groups that advise the Department of Energy, the general public, environmental organizations, and appropriate officials of States in which Department of Energy facilities are located. The Secretary shall include such comments and recommendations in the report.
