SEC. 123. EFFECTS OF AIRPORT NOISE. (a) Study.—The Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration shall— (1) analyze the social, economic, and health effects of airport noise on populations within 65, 60, and 55 LDN noise areas to determine the actual level at which noise creates an adverse impact on populations; and (2) study the effect of single event noise on populations. (b) Report.—Not later than 1 year after the date of the enactment of this Act and after providing notice and opportunity for public comment, the Administrator shall transmit to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate and the 106 STAT. 4885Committee on Public Works and Transportation of the House of Representatives a report on the results of the analysis and study conducted under subsection (a).
