SEC. 109. RESEARCH RELATING TO WOMEN VETERANS HEALTH. (a) Initiation And Expansion Of Research.— The Secretary of Veterans Affairs, in carrying out the Secretary’s responsibilities under section 7303 of title 38, United States Code, shall foster and encourage the initiation and expansion of research relating to the health of veterans who are women. (b) Authorization Of Appropriations.— (1) Funds are authorized to be appropriated to the Secretary to initiate new studies in accordance with subsection (a) as follows: (A) For fiscal year 1993, $1,500,000. (B) For fiscal year 1994, $2,000,000. (C) For fiscal year 1995, $2,500,000. (2) Amounts appropriated pursuant to the authorization of appropriations in paragraph (1) are in addition to other funds appropriated or otherwise made available to the Department of Veterans Affairs for research.
