SEC. 738. SENSE OF CONGRESS REGARDING THE PROVISION OF ADEQUATE MEDICAL CARE TO COVERED BENEFICIARIES UNDER THE MILITARY MEDICAL SYSTEM. (a) Sense of Congress.—In order to provide covered beneficiaries under chapter 55 of title 10, United States Code, especially retired military personnel, with greater access to health care in medical facilities of the uniformed services, it is the sense of Congress that the Secretary of Defense should encourage the increased use in such facilities of physicians, dentists, or other health care professionals who are members of the reserve components of the Armed Forces and who are performing active duty, full-time National Guard duty, or inactive-duty training, if service in such facilities is consistent with the other military training requirements of these members. (b) Definitions.—For purposes of this section: (1) The term “retired military personnel” means persons who are eligible for health care in medical facilities of the uniformed services under section 1074(b) of title 10, United States Code. (2) The terms “active duty”, “full-time National Guard duty”, and “inactive-duty training” have the meanings given such terms in section 101(d) of such title.
