SEC. 603. GLOBAL CLIMATE PROTECTION. The Global Climate Protection Act of 1987 (title XI of the Foreign Relations Authorization Act, Fiscal Years 1988 and 1989; 15 U.S.C. 2901 note) is amended— (1) in section 1106— (A) by striking “united states-soviet relations” in the section heading and inserting “united states relations with the independent states of the former soviet union”; (B) by striking “Soviet Union” and inserting “independent states of the former Soviet Union”; (C) by striking “their joint role as the world’s two major” and inserting “the extent to which they are”; and (D) by striking “United States-Soviet relations” and inserting “United States relations with the independent states”; and (2) in section 1(b), in the item in the table of contents relating to section 1106, by striking “United States-Soviet relations” and inserting “United States relations with the independent states of the former Soviet Union”.
