SEC.118. HOURS OF SERVICE RULEMAKING FOR FARMERS AND RETAIL FARM SUPPLIERS. Not later than 3 months after the date of enactment of this Act the Secretary of Transportation shall initiate a rulemaking proceeding to determine whether or not the requirements of section 395.3 of title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, relating to hours of service, may be waived for farmers and retail farm suppliers when such farmers and retail farm suppliers are transporting crops108 STAT. 1679 or farm supplies for agricultural purposes within a 50-mile radius of their distribution point or farm.
