Patent and Trademark Office salaries and expenses For necessary expenses of the Patent and Trademark Office provided for by law, including defense of suits instituted against the Commissioner of Patents and Trademarks; $83,000,000, to remain available until expended, of which $6,000,000 is available only for the acquisition of high performance computing capability: Provided, That of the offsetting collections credited to this account, $2,195,000 are permanently canceled: Provided further, That the funds made available under this heading are to be derived from deposits in the Patent and Trademark Office Fee Surcharge Fund as authorized by law: Provided further, That the amounts made available under the Fund shall not exceed amounts deposited; and such fees as shall be collected pursuant to 15 U.S.C. 1113 and 35 U.S.C. 41 and 376, shall remain available until expended.
