SEC. 180301. FUNDING FOR RURAL AREAS. It is the sense of Congress that— (1) the Attorney General should ensure that funding for programs authorized by the provisions of this Act and amendments made by this Act is distributed in such a manner that rural areas continue to receive comparable support for their broad-based crime fighting initiatives; 108 STAT. 2048 (2) rural communities should not receive less funding than they received in fiscal year 1994 for anti-crime initiatives as a result of any legislative or administrative actions; and (3) to the maximum extent possible, funding for the Edward Byrne Memorial State and Local Law Enforcement Assistance Program should be maintained at its fiscal year 1994 level.
