SEC. 320917. EXTENSION OF STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS FOR ARSON. (a) In General.— Section 844(i) of title 18, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following: “No person shall be prosecuted, tried, or punished for any noncapital offense under this subsection unless the indictment is found or the information is instituted within 7 years after the date on which the offense was committed.”. (b) Application of Amendment.— The amendment made by3 subsection (a) shall not apply to any offense described in the amendment that was committed more than 5 years prior to the date of enactment of this Act.
