AUTHORITY FOR AIR UNIVERSITY TO AWARD THE DEGREE OF MASTER OF AIRPOWER ART AND SCIENCE.

SEC. 913. AUTHORITY FOR AIR UNIVERSITY TO AWARD THE DEGREE OF MASTER OF AIRPOWER ART AND SCIENCE. (a) Authority To Award.— (1) Chapter 901 of title 10, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new section: “§9317. Air University: master of airpower art and science “(a) Authority.— Upon the recommendation of the faculty of the School of Advanced Airpower Studies of the Air University, the Commander of the university may confer the degree of master of airpower art and science upon graduates of the school who fulfill the requirements for the degree. “(b) Regulations.— The authority provided by subsection (a) shall be exercised under regulations prescribed by the Secretary of the Air Force.”. (2) The table of sections at the beginning of such chapter is amended by adding at the end the following new item: “9317. Air University: master of airpower art and science.”. (b) Effective Date.— The authority provided by section 9317(a) of title 10, United States Code, as added by subsection (a), shall 108 STAT. 2829become effective on the date on which the Secretary of Education determines that the requirements established by the School of Advanced Airpower Studies of the Air University for the degree of master of airpower art and science are in accordance with generally applicable requirements for a degree of master of arts or a degree of master of science.
