SEC. 715. DELAY IN DEADLINE FOR USE OF HEALTH MAINTENANCE ORGANIZATION MODEL AS OPTION FOR MILITARY HEALTHCARE. Section 731 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1994 (Public Law 103–160; 107 Stat. 1696; 10 U.S.C. 1073 note) is amended— (1) in subsection (a), by striking out “after the date of the enactment of this Act” and inserting in lieu thereof “after December 31, 1994”; (2) in subsection (e), by striking out “February 1, 1994” and inserting in lieu thereof “December 31, 1994”; and (3) by adding at the end the following new subsection (f): “(f) Modification of Existing Contracts.— In the case of managed health care contracts in effect or in final stages of acquisition as of December 31, 1994, the Secretary may modify such contracts to incorporate the health benefit option required under subsection (a).”.
