SEC. 1022. TRANSFER OF OBSOLETE VESSEL USS GUADALCANAL. (a) Authority.— Notwithstanding subsections (a) and (d) of section 7306 of title 10, United States Code, but subject to subsections (b) and (c) of that section, upon the decommissioning of the USS Guadalcanal (LPH–7), the Secretary of the Navy may transfer the USS Guadalcanal to the not-for-profit organization Intrepid Museum Foundation, New York, New York. (b) Limitation.— The transfer authorized by subsection (a) may be made only if the Secretary determines that the vessel USS Guadalcanal is of no further use to the United States for national security purposes. (c) Terms and Conditions.— The Secretary may require such terms and conditions in connection with the transfer authorized by this section as the Secretary considers appropriate.
