SEC. 2814. GOVERNMENT RENTAL OF FACILITIES LOCATED ON CLOSED MILITARY INSTALLATIONS. (a) Authorization To Rent Base Closure Properties.—To promote the rapid conversion of military installations that are closed pursuant to a base closure law, the Administrator of the General Services may give priority consideration, when leasing space in accordance with the Public Buildings Act of 1959 (40 U.S.C. 601 et seq.) and the Federal Property and Administrative Services Act of 1949 (40 U.S.C. 471 et seq.), to facilities of such an installation that have been acquired by a non-Federal entity. (b) Base Closure Law Defined.— For purposes of this section, the term “base closure law” means each of the following: (1) The Defense Base Closure and Realignment Act of 1990 (part A of title XXIX of Public Law 101–510; 10 U.S.C. 2687 note). (2) Title II of the Defense Authorization Amendments and Base Closure and Realignment Act (Public Law 100–526; 10 U.S.C. 2687 note).
