SEC. 402. INSPECTOR GENERAL OF THE CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE AGENCY. Section 17 of the Central Intelligence Agency Act of 1949 (50 U.S.C. 403q) is amended— (1) in subsection (b)(1)— (A) by striking “or” after “analysis,”; and (B) by striking the period at the end thereof and inserting “, or auditing ”; (2) in subsection (c)(1), by striking “to conduct” and inserting “to plan, conduct”; (3) in subsection (d)(1)— (A) by striking “June 30 and December 31” and inserting “January 31 and July 31”; (B) by striking “period.” at the end of the first sentence and inserting “periods ending December 31 (of the preceding year) and June 30, respectively.”; and (C) by inserting “of receipt of such reports” after “thirty days”; (4) in subsection (d)(3)(C), by inserting “inspection, or audit,” after “investigation,”; (5) in subsection (d)(4), by inserting “or findings and recommendations” after “report”; and (6) in subsection (e)(6)— (A) by striking “it is the sense of Congress that”; and (B) by striking “should” and inserting “shall”.
