REPORTS TO CREDIT BUREAUS ON PERSONS DELINQUENT IN CHILD SUPPORT PAYMENTS.
SEC. 212. REPORTS TO CREDIT BUREAUS ON PERSONS DELINQUENT IN CHILD SUPPORT PAYMENTS. (a) In General.— Section 466(a)(7) (42 U.S.C. 666(a)(7)) is amended— (1) by striking “Procedures” and all that follows through “request of such agency” and inserting “Procedures which108 STAT. 4461 require the State to periodically report to consumer reporting agencies (as defined in section 603(f) of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (15 U.S.C. 1681a(f))) the name of any parent who owes overdue support and is at least 2 months delinquent in the payment of such support and the amount of such delinquency”; and (2) by striking “(C) a fee” and all that follows through “by the State” and inserting “(C) such information shall not be made available to (i) a consumer reporting agency which the State determines does not have sufficient capability to systematically and timely make accurate use of such information, or (ii) an entity which has not furnished evidence satisfactory to the State that the entity is a consumer reporting agency”. (b) Effective Date.— The amendments made by subsection (a) shall take effect on October 1, 1995.
