SEC. 502. CENTERS FOR THE STUDY OF PEDIATRIC CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES. Section 422(a)(1) of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 285b–4(a)(1)) is amended— (1) in subparagraph (B), by striking “and” at the end; (2) in subparagraph (C), by striking the period and inserting “; and”; and (3) by adding at the end the following subparagraph: “(D) three centers for basic and clinical research into, training in, and demonstration of, advanced diagnostic, prevention, and treatment (including genetic studies, intrauterine environment studies, postnatal studies, heart arrhythmias, and acquired heart disease and preventive cardiology) for cardiovascular diseases in children.”.
