SEC. 13606. COVERAGE OF NURSE-MIDWIFE SERVICES PERFORMED OUTSIDE THE MATERNITY CYCLE. (a) In General.— Section 1905(a)(17) (42 U.S.C. 1396d(a)(17)) is amended by inserting before the semicolon at the end the following: “, and without regard to whether or not the services are performed in the area of management of the care of mothers and babies throughout the maternity cycle”. (b) Effective Date.— The amendment made by subsection (a) shall apply to services furnished on or after October 1, 1993.
