Sec. 310. (a) Section 17 of the Act entitled “An Act making appropriations for sundry Civil Expenses of the Government for the year ending June thirtieth, eighteen hundred and sixty-seven, and for other purposes”, approved July 28, 1866 (2 U.S.C. 43), is amended by inserting after “mileage” the first place it appears the following: “for each Senator”. (b) The first section of the Legislative Branch Appropriations Act, 1936 (2 U.S.C. 43a), under the heading “SENATE”, and subheading “Salaries and Mileage of Senators”, is amended by striking “Senators, Members of the House of Representatives, and Delegates in Congress” and inserting “Senators”. (c) The amendments made by subsections (a) and (b) shall take effect on October 1, 1993.
