SEC. 340. REPEAL OF REQUIREMENT TO CONVERT SHIPS’ STORES TO NONAPPROPRIATED FUND INSTRUMENTALITIES. (a) Repeal.— Section 371 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1994 (Public Law 103–160; 10 U.S.C. 7604 note) is amended— (1) by striking out subsections (a) and (b); and (2) by redesignating subsections (c) and (d) as subsections (a) and (b), respectively. (b) Inspector General Review.— Not later than April 1, 1996, the Inspector General of the Department of Defense shall submit to Congress a report that reviews the report on the costs and benefits of converting to operation of Navy ships’ stores by nonappropriated fund instrumentalities that the Navy Audit Agency prepared in connection with the postponement of the deadline for the conversion provided for in section 374(a) of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1995 (Public Law 103–337; 108 Stat. 2736).
