SEC. 1018. SENSE OF CONGRESS CONCERNING NAMING OF AMPHIBIOUS SHIPS. It is the sense of Congress that the Secretary of the Navy— (1) should name the vessel to be designated LHD-7 as the U.S.S. Iwo Jima; and (2) should name the vessel to be designated LPD-17, and each subsequent ship of the LPD-17 class, after a Marine Corps battle or a member of the Marine Corps.
