AUTHORIZATION OF APPROPRIATIONS.

SEC. 3401. AUTHORIZATION OF APPROPRIATIONS. There is hereby authorized to be appropriated to the Secretary of Energy $148,786,000 for fiscal year 1996 for the purpose of 110 STAT. 631carrying out activities under chapter 641 of title 10, United States Code, relating to the naval petroleum reserves (as defined in section 7420(2) of such title). Funds appropriated pursuant to such authorization shall remain available until expended. Of the amount appropriated pursuant to the authorization of appropriations in the preceding sentence, the Secretary may use not more than $7,000,000 for carrying out activities related to the sale of Naval Petroleum Reserve Numbered 1 under section 3412.
