GRANTS TO LOCAL EDUCATIONAL AGENCIES.

SEC. 6074. GRANTS TO LOCAL EDUCATIONAL AGENCIES. (a) General Authority.— From the amount appropriated under section 6073 for any fiscal year the Secretary shall make grants to local educational agencies in accordance with the provisions of this subchapter. (b) Community-Based Organizations Rule.— Each local educational agency may carry out the activities described in section 6075 in cooperation with community-based organizations. (c) Eligible Students.— Secondary school students who meet the requirements of part A of chapter 1 of title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 other than the requirement of attendance in the designated school attendance area shall be eligible to participate in programs and activities assisted under this subchapter.
