SEC. 807. INCREASE IN SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION THRESHOLD FOR HUMANITARIAN OR PEACEKEEPING OPERATIONS. (a) Armed Services Acquisitions.— Section 2302(7) of title 10, United States Code, is amended— (1) by inserting “(A)” after “(7)”; (2) by inserting after “contingency operation” the following: “or a humanitarian or peacekeeping operation”; and (3) by adding at the end the following: “(B) In subparagraph (A), the term ‘humanitarian or peace-keeping operation’ means a military operation in support of the provision of humanitarian or foreign disaster assistance or in support of a peacekeeping operation under chapter VI or VII of the Charter of the United Nations. The term does not include routine training, force rotation, or stationing.”. (b) Civilian Agency Acquisitions.— Section 309(d) of the Federal Property and Administrative Services Act of 1949 (41 U.S.C. 259(d)) is amended— (1) by inserting “(1)” after “(d)”; (2) by inserting after “contingency operation” the following: “or a humanitarian or peacekeeping operation”; and (3) by adding at the end the following: “(2) In paragraph (1): 110 STAT. 2607 “(A) The term ‘contingency operation’ has the meaning given such term in section 101(a) of title 10, United States Code. “(B) The term ‘humanitarian or peacekeeping operation’ means a military operation in support of the provision of humanitarian or foreign disaster assistance or in support of a peacekeeping operation under chapter VI or VII of the Charter of the United Nations. The term does not include routine training, force rotation, or stationing.”.
