FUNDING FOR TRANSPORTATION OF HOUSEHOLD EFFECTS OF PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE OFFICERS.

SEC. 624. FUNDING FOR TRANSPORTATION OF HOUSEHOLD EFFECTS OF PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE OFFICERS. Section 406(j) of title 37, United States Code, is amended— (1) in the first sentence of paragraph (1)— (A) by striking out “Appropriations available” and all that follows through “to a member” and inserting in lieu thereof “The Secretary concerned may pay a monetary allowance to a member of the armed forces or a member of the Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Service”; and (B) by striking out “of the military department”; and (2) by adding at the end the following new paragraph: “(3) Appropriations available to the Department of Defense for providing transportation of household effects of members of the armed forces under subsection (b) shall be available to pay the monetary allowance authorized under paragraph (1) to such members. Appropriations available to the Department of Health 110 STAT. 2549and Human Services for providing transportation of household effects of members of the Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Service under subsection (b) shall be available to pay the monetary allowance authorized under paragraph (1) to such members.”.
