SEC. 506. CHIEF WARRANT OFFICER PROMOTIONS. (a) Reduction of Minimum Time in Grade Required for Consideration for Promotion.— Section 574(e) of title 10, United States Code, is amended by striking out “three years of service” and inserting in lieu thereof “two years of service”. (b) Below-Zone Selection.— Section 575(b)(1) of such title is amended by inserting “chief warrant officer, W–3,” in the first sentence after “to consider warrant officers for selection for promotion to the grade of”.
