SEC. 2105. LAND ACQUISITION, NATIONAL GROUND INTELLIGENCE CENTER, CHARLOTTESVILLE, VIRGINIA. (a) Acquisition Authorized.— Subject to subsection (b), the Secretary of the Army may acquire real property for the National Ground Intelligence Center, Charlottesville, Virginia. (b) Requirement Relating to Acquisition.— The Secretary may not acquire real property pursuant to the authorization in subsection (a) until the Secretary certifies to the congressional defense committees, based on the results of an assessment of property currently owned or operated by the Federal Government in the vicinity of Charlottesville, Virginia, that the acquisition of the property would provide the most cost-effective means of securing a location for the National Ground Intelligence Center that satisfies the mission requirements of the center. (c) Funding.— Of the amounts authorized to be appropriated by section 2104(a)(1), $1,000,000 shall be available for the acquisi-110 STAT. 2766tion of real property pursuant to the authorization in subsection (a).
