SEC. 310. REPORT ON POLICY OF INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY REGARDING THE PROTECTION OF THE NATIONAL INFORMATION INFRASTRUCTURE AGAINST ATTACK. (a) Report.—(1) Not later than 120 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Director of Central Intelligence shall submit to Congress a report on the potential responses of the intelligence community to threats to and attacks upon the information infrastructure of the United States by foreign countries, groups, or individuals, or by other entities, groups, or individuals. (2) The report shall include the following: (A) An analysis of the threats posed to the information infrastructure of the United States by information warfare and other forms of non-traditional attacks on the infrastructure by foreign countries, groups, or individuals, or by other entities, groups, or individuals. (B) A description and assessment of the counterintelligence activities required to respond to such threats, including the plans of the intelligence community to support such activities. (b) Definitions.—For purposes of this section: (1) The term “intelligence community” has the meaning given such term in section 3(4) of the National Security Act of 1947 (50 U.S.C. 401a(4)). (2) The term “information infrastructure of the United States” includes the information infrastructure of the public sector and of the private sector.
