SEC. 817. INTELLIGENCE RESERVE CORPS. (a) Report on Corps.—Not later than four months after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Director of Central Intelligence shall submit to the appropriate committees of Congress a report on the Surge Augmentation Program to provide for an Intelligence Reserve Corps to serve as a surge or augmentation resource for the Intelligence Community. The report shall include such recommendations for legislation as the Director considers appropriate. (b) Appropriate Committees Defined.—In this section, the term “appropriate committees of Congress” means the following: (1) The Committee on Governmental Affairs and the Select Committee on Intelligence of the Senate. (2) The Committee on Government Reform and Oversight and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence of the House of Representatives.
