SEC. 209. STUDY OF IDENTIFICATION METHODS FOR HARVEST STOCKS. (a) In General.—The Secretary of Commerce shall conduct a study to determine the best possible method of identifying various Atlantic and Pacific salmon and steelhead stocks in the ocean at time of harvest. The study shall include an assessment of— (1) coded wire tags; (2) fin clipping; and (3) other identification methods. 110 STAT. 3615 (b) Report.—The Secretary shall report the results of the study, together with any recommendations tor legislation deemed necessary based on the study, within 6 months after the date of enactment of this Act to the Committee on Resources of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate.
