National Film Preservation Board salaries and expenses For necessary expenses of the National Film Preservation Board in the Library of Congress, $250,000: Provided, That the following may be cited as the “National Film Preservation Act of 1988”: The Congress finds that— (1) motion pictures are an indigenous American art form that has been emulated throughout the world; (2) certain motion pictures represent an enduring part of our Nation’s historical and cultural heritage; and (3) it is appropriate and necessary for the Federal Government to recognize motion pictures as a significant American art form deserving of protection.
