SEC. 403. AUTHORITIES OF THE INSPECTOR GENERAL OF THE CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE AGENCY. (a) Reports by the Inspector General.—Section 17(b)(5) of the Central Intelligence Act of 1949 (50 U.S.C. 403q(b)(5)) is amended to read as follows: “(5) In accordance with section 535 of title 28, United States Code, the Inspector General shall report to the Attorney General any information, allegation, or complaint received by the Inspector General relating to violations of Federal criminal law that involve a program or operation of the Agency, consistent with such guidelines as may be issued by the Attorney General pursuant to subsection (b)(2) of such section. A copy of all such reports shall be furnished to the Director.”. (b) Exception to Nondisclosure Requirement.—Section 17(e)(3)(A) of such Act is amended by inserting after “investigation” the following: “or the disclosure is made to an official of the Depart-109 STAT. 970ment of Justice responsible for determining whether a prosecution should be undertaken”.
