SEC. 401. END STRENGTHS FOR ACTIVE FORCES The Armed Forces are authorized end strengths for active duty personnel as of September 30, 1989, as follows; (1) The Army, 771,800, of which not more than 106,927 may be officers. (2) The Navy, 593,200, of which not more than 72,610 may be officers. (3) The Marine Corps, 197,200, of which not more than 20,120 may be officers. (4) The Air Force, 575,100, of which not more than 105,038 may be officers.
