SEC. 972. GNMA GUARANTEE FEE. (a) In General.— Section 306(g)(3)(A) of the National Housing Act (12 U.S.C. 1721(g)(3)(A)) is amended by striking “No fee or charge” and all that follows through “States)” and inserting “The Association shall assess and collect a fee in an amount equal to nine basis points”. (b) Effective Date.— The amendment made by this section shall take effect on October 1, 2004.
