SEC. 518. SERVICE BY CAPTAINS AND NAVY LIEUTENANTS IN JOINT DUTY ASSIGNMENT TO BE COUNTED FOR ALL OFFICER PERSONNEL LAWS CONCERNING SUCH SERVICE Section 661 of title 10, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection: 102 STAT. 1972 “(f) Treatment of Certain Service.—Any service by an officer in the grade of captain or, in the case of the Navy, lieutenant in a joint duty assignment shall be considered to be service in a joint duty assignment for purposes of all laws (including section 619(e)(1) of this title) establishing a requirement or condition with respect to an officer’s service in a joint duty assignment.”.
