SEC. 302. PENALTIES FOR INTERFERING WITH THE SAFE OPERATION OF A VESSEL. (a) In General.— Section 2302 of title 46, United States Code, is amended— (1) by amending the section heading to read as follows:112 STAT. 3418 “§ 2302. Penalties for negligent operations and interfering with safe operation”; and (2) in subsection (a) by striking “that endangers” and inserting “or interfering with the safe operation of a vessel, so as to endanger”. (b) Clerical Amendment.— The table of sections at the beginning of chapter 23 of title 46, United States Code, is amended by striking the item relating to section 2302 and inserting the following: “2302. Penalties for negligent operations and interfering with safe operation.”.
